Vivien is an established Dutch-to-English translator and English-language editor based in the Netherlands. She has translated numerous non-fiction books, museum texts and scholarly essays. In addition to translation, she works with clients to improve the impact of their English-language texts (editing and proofreading).
Recent book translations include Stumbling in the Dark by Rémy Limpach (2024), on the intelligence battle during the Indonesian War of Independence; Lifting the Fog by Bob de Graaff (2024), a secret history of Dutch military intelligence; and The World and the Netherlands by Karel Davids et al. (2022), a comprehensive history of the Netherlands in international context.
Vivien is a full member of the Dutch translators' and interpreters' association (NGTV) and of SENSE, the Society of English Native-Speaking Editors in the Netherlands.
